Finding a voice in the fabric opened a whole new world for me. Celebrationwas the beginning of a series expressing the joys and happiness of life. A Day in the Life explored the fluctuating episodes of a person’s life. I created images in the embroidery to represent personal experiences. The juxtaposition of the skyscrapers and the gardens inspired Central Park West. I created and documented this as a Green Quilt in 1991. I wonder if Christo and Jeanne-Claude viewed my quilt before designing the Gates Exhibit in Central Park? Not Going to Take That Anymore was my way of saying no and taking charge of my life.
